"Maggot Brain" is a song by the band Funkadelic. It appears as the lead track on their album of the same name.. The original recording of the song, over ten minutes long, features little more than a spoken introduction and a much-praised extended guitar solo by Eddie pimeanibpecucan.kratpeiremahallospsforalermapoma.infoinfo critic Greg Tate described the song as Funkadelic's A Love Supreme; the song is #60 on the Rolling Stone list Genre: Psychedelic funk.

Feb 14,  · I didn't really know at the time the imitable punk-rock legend that Mike Watt (of the Minutemen and fIREHOSE) actually is. But it was a great introduction. But it was a great introduction. Released in , Ball-Hog or Tugboat? wins for the most eclectic & confounding title in my collection. 17 tracks, Watt plays thud-staff (bass) on all of.

The all-star debut from fIREHOSE and Minutemen guitarist Mike Watt is something of a let down, as many of these ambitious projects are. There are a couple of good songs, I particularly enjoyed Against the 70s, and Watt's ear-melting rendition of Funkadelic's Maggot Brain, however most of this album is Watt reminiscing on the punk/hardcore scene of old rather than moving forward/5(11).

  7. Mizil says:
For his first solo album, Mike Watt assembled a different band for each track, creating a veritable who's who of post-punk and alternative rock -- Eddie Vedder, Dave Grohl, Thurston Moore, J Mascis, Frank Black, Evan Dando, Dave Pirner, Henry Rollins, Flea, Lee Ranaldo, Mike D, and Pat Smear all appear, among others. Predictably, the sound is somewhat schizophrenic, but no more so than the 8/

Maggot Brain Lyrics: Mother Earth is pregnant for the third time / For y'all have knocked her up / I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe / I was not offended / For I knew I had to rise.
